“Still Water” 36x48 oil on canvas. Title comes from a few words in Wendall Berry’s poem, The Peace of Wild Things: “I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free”. I was taken by the idea of stars above awaiting with their light ~ when we think we are only seeking the still waters for refuge but in reality we are resting in the grace and abundance of the entire world.
