"Moonlight Cliffs" (20x20x1.5 oil on canvas) I continue to revisit Moonlight Beach for inspiration not only because it is one of my favorite local beaches but because of the dramatic coastline. There are so many interesting elements from the architecture of the cliffside homes, to the steep natural walls that drop off into the sand and the piles of boulders that keep the waves a bay. In this seascape in particular I have begun to experiment with moving away from blending colors and focusing more on single brushstrokes of colors. I'm loving the effect of this approach and will be playing with it in future landscapes to come. *This piece is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas, meaning it is on a thicker frame, this one is 1.5" deep.
