Lady Horses (40x30 oil on canvas). This painting is part of a series exploring the deep connection between women and their horses -- a relationship that embodies both gentleness and strength. They are mirrors, a reflection of each other's power. When I paint a woman standing on the back of a horse, it is not a symbol of dominance but one of a trust built through hours of care and understanding. Over time, the boundaries between them blur, and the rider begins to see herself in the horse. As Ada Limon beautifully expresses in her poem How to Triumph Like a Girl, it's "as if this big, dangerous animal is also part of me, that somewhere inside the delicate skin of my body, there pumps an 8-pound female horse heart, giant with power, heavy with blood."
