"Buena Vista" | 40 x 30 | oil on canvas | My most recent work—an homage to my mother’s early days in Key West. She’d spend long, sun-soaked days with friends along the shores of Casa Marina’s beach, slipping into the warm, clear aqua waters only when the heat became too much—always careful to keep their hair dry.

Buena Vista, meaning “good view” in Spanish, is also a quiet nod to the band and the music that has long inspired me. My mother told stories of a freer, simpler time—when she could hop on a boat and “pop” over to Cuba for a night of dancing.

What I wouldn’t give to hop in a Time Machine and watch it all from the balcony.
