16"x 40"x1.5" deep / Oil on gallery wrapped heavy duty canvas
This is a piece that went a completely different direction than what I'd imagined. I had the palette in mind and started with the sky. When I went to paint the ocean and the wave I swiped a strip of lightblue paint onto the dark blue and it went on in a graphic way that made me wonder what the landscape woul look like if I blocked it all out that way. I thought what resulted was sort of a groovy 70s vibe which I like juxtaposed to the more detailed sky and clouds.
