11"x14" Acrylic on Wood. "Where the Sea Meets the Moon" is an answer to the call that abstract painting has been whistling in my ear. I love the unexpected marks and shapes that happen when working in the abstract but I also love the elements of the representational whether it be a figure or a landformation. Perhaps poet Charles Baudelaire captured this sentiment best, "That which is not slightly distorted lacks sensible appeal; from which it follows that irregularity -- that is to say, the unexpected, surprise and astonishment, are an essential part and charadteristic of beauty."
