This painting is a nod to Andrew Wyeth's, 1948 painting "Christina's World." Wyeth is one of my favorite painters and his painting is so moving to me. The subject of his painting, Christina, is sitting in the grass gazing back at her home. What the viewer wouldn't know at first glance is that Christina couldn't walk. Wyeth leaves you wondering if she was looking back at her home longingly or with relief to be free of its confines. I painted my own Christina looking back at the horizon, contemplating the duality of the past. "Christina's Day" 18x24 Acrylic on Wood Panel (unframed)
