I love all things vintage but I love them more when they are juxtoposed to a few new things. I painted the image of a 1950's surfer girl (or woman, really) but placed her in a more modern abstract setting. I think of who the surfer girl is today. Certainly not one with perfectly coiffed hair and makeup but one who is thankful to all the Gidgets that set the stage for the future of women on waves. 18x24 Mixed Media on Wood Panel, Unframed)
